Permits in Dallas

The City of Dallas Planning and Development Department handles residential and commercial permits and inspections, with plans, fees and inspections managed online through DallasNow. In conservation districts, city staff review the plans against the district's standards in addition to the building permit review, and historic districts and landmarks need a Certificate of Appropriateness. Outside the city, Dallas County's Department of Unincorporated Area Services issues development permits.

Questions

Is my Dallas home in a conservation district?

Dallas has a number of conservation districts, each with its own standards. We check your address and prepare the district review along with the permit set.
